What is the function of belt pulley?

A belt pulley is a mechanical component that is used to transmit power between two rotating shafts. It is essentially a wheel with a groove around its circumference that is designed to hold a belt or a chain.
The primary function of a belt pulley is to transfer power from a motor or engine to another rotating component, such as a fan, a pump, a generator, or a compressor. The belt or chain is wrapped around the pulley, and when the pulley rotates, it causes the belt or chain to move as well, which in turn rotates the other component.

Belt pulleys are commonly used in industrial machinery and equipment, such as in conveyor systems, agricultural machines, and printing presses. They can also be found in automotive applications, such as in the alternator and power steering systems.
Belt pulleys come in various sizes, shapes, and materials depending on the application, and are designed to withstand the forces and stresses of the power transmission process. They are an essential component of many machines and systems that rely on efficient power transmission.
